NQ Jewellery Design Services launched in 2007 as the first Soweto jewellery brand, offering a wide range of bespoke and luxury designs.

NQ Jewellery Design Services is a South African custom jewellery company established by Nqobile Nkosi, a jewellery designer from Soweto. The company has won several awards through Nqobile’s creativity including, the Gauteng Business Leader Award, the Jet Community Awards–Vuka Uzenzele, a SAB Kickstart Award, Hope Fund by Euro News and Tsogo Sun Entrepreneurs 2016.

NQ Jewellery’s new workshop is  200-square-metre premises employing eight people based at the Rand Refinery estate, as well as interns from universities and FET colleges. The company designs and produces custom-made, high-end jewellery that retails at various outlets around the country, Tourvest retail outlets at airports,  at Shishangeni Lodge on Kruger National Park’s border and The Jewellery Village Store at Montecasino.

Nkosi said opportunities were open for his business when he was crowned Tsogo Sun Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016. “Through the Tsogo Sun Entrepreneur platform, we launched our first corporate division, designing, manufacturing and supplying high-quality items such as key rings, cuff links, jacket pins and trophies. This led to our incorporation into the Rand Refinery Supplier Development programme.
